Well, as I gather it is MIke Parker who is the original creator of NimbusQ. Still the NimbusQ font engine is adapted to PC/Geos, maybe it was such an extensive work to adapt it to PC/Geos, as it might be considered as a new creation, which makes Gene Anderson as the copyright holder? The best thing would be to ask Gene Anderson. Maybe Falk have done that already?

That's just a standard file-header. Gene was most likely the one that did the first check-in or the one that added this header. But he wasn't the only one to work on the font engine as you can see in the revisions-file: https://github.com/bluewaysw/pcgeos/blob…mbus/nimbus.rev
And even the GP-file https://github.com/bluewaysw/pcgeos/blob…imbus/nimbus.gp says "Contains Nimbus Q from Digital Typeface Corp. and typefaces from URW"
:D It pulls like pike-soup. Hence, I understand only train-station. :D

I know that Gene had in mind to replace the NImbusQ with a new font engine. This was after NewDeal ended business operation, and Breadbox took over. It was about the same time when Gene released the updated UI for Geos, I can't recall what time it was, but it when Gene had the Två Katter site. I know, as I discusssed this with him.

It seems that NimbusQ was abandoned when TrueType came, even if its not mentioned by name you can read a story here about DTC: http://luc.devroye.org/fonts-96689.html

The conclusion I make, from reading the text, is that LaserMaster dissolved Digital Typeface Corporation and dumped the NimbusQ font engine, focusing on large laser prints. This due to that TrueType won as the digital typeface. NimbusQ was abandoned around 1992/1993.
The original creator of NimbusQ was Mike Parker, and he probably got back the copyright of NimbusQ, but did not care. I asked about it and his son did not know what NimbusQ was or anything about the copyright. If you do google searches on NImbusQ, the replies you get is from about 1989 to 1992. After 1992 it is quiet. If someone aquired the rights, then there should be some facts about it, but there is nothing.
